NEW League Roster

The Deal:

Finally, we're able to give a preview of the new National Roller Derby League. This has been in planning for over 2 years and the full project still has a couple of years to be fully developed. What is being presented in this report is about 60% of our current plan... enough to begin a possible 2007-2008 season.

Our games will take place in 2 cities:
Industry, CA. and Las Vegas, NV.

The concerns of the public have been heard. The National Roller Derby League has a product looking to solve many problems facing today's brand of roller-sports. With a majority of skaters and fans alike feeling that roller derby's promoters "just don't get it," NRDL Management wants to assure the public that "we take pride in our product, pride in this sport, and seek nothing short of professionalism. Believe us... we get it."

Fans of this sport can expect to see greater emphasis on skating ability and less focus on incessant brawling. "This league is offering a competitive form of entertainment not seen to this degree in years. We're confident in setting a new bar of standards."

The Working Plan:

We took a look at just about every active skater who've had a game within the past 2 years and placed their names in a lottery. Some skaters made the team-cut, others made the reserves. Skaters of different ranks were made to make sure all 4 teams had an even playing field for competitions.

To guide our teams, NRDL management has chosen 4 of the most influential individuals in roller sports to become managers...

The Managers:

"Considered by many as the greatest pure female skater of all time, this female has a deep rooted history in Roller Derby. She has captained many teams in her past and still continues to guide newcomers to our sport with her infinite wisdom. Always outspoken, but well justified in her intentions, this individual always states her mind regardless of consequence. With a tongue as sharp as a bayonet, she'll stab her views into an antagonist before shooting them with the painful truth... an asset she hopes can bring success to her team."

Appointed to the LAS VEGAS HIGH ROLLERS... we introduce:
"Little Iodine" Loretta Behrens

"Possibly the most aggressive villain of the 50s through the 70s, this skater struck fear in many opponents during his active tenure in roller sports. An arch-rival to many names of that time including Buddy Atkinson, Ronnie "Psycho" Rains, and especially Ralphie Valladares, this individual mounted a destructive offense oftentimes sacrificing his own body to cripple his opponents. He wrote roller derby's true chapter on gritty, rugged and under-handed game-play. Never being able to procure a world championship, he once again returns to manage the team he first created."

Appointed to the TEXAS OUTLAWS... we introduce:
"El Tigre" Lou Sanchez

"Considered one of the most popular and influential skaters of the 50s through the 70s, this individual is a huge advocate for clean, solid skating. In a move making history, this individual along with our own founder are credited with going "outlaw," splitting roller sports into 2 factions: "Roller-Derby" and "Rollergames." Dubbed a hero for the movement, many skaters of that time will attest looking upon this man with great admiration and respect. Breaking barriers all across the board in terms of entertainment, color and management... this gentleman built a better roller sport."

Appointed to the LOS ANGELES STARS... we introduce:
George Copeland

"Possibly the most controversial manager ever in this sport, this individual thrives on the suffering of others. A former skater in her own right, her super-stardom began when she unlaced the very skates she desired to wear. Never one to back down from a challenge, her presence and demeanor alone was enough to warrant concern. If the quote, "win if you can, lose if you must... but always cheat" had to apply to a manager, this individual takes the crown. Regardless of the methods, she knows how to win. She's just a well-known rule-breaker looking to give everybody an 'attitude adjustment.' "

Appointed to the BROOKLYN RED DEVILS... we introduce:
"Mizz" Georgia Hase

Each team will face each other at least 4 times within a season. The teams can look forward to at least 14 games each full season (lasting roughly a year).

The Mid-Season Playoff involves each team participating in a one-night event to determine which team gets a "BYE" to the championship bout at the Final Tournament. On the opposite end, the 2 losers of the Mid-Season Playoff must skate a total of 3 games in the Final Tournament in order to win the NRDL Championship.

The Final Tournament takes place in Sin City, with every team competing for the NRDL Championship and a large cash amount hanging in the balance. This ensures a hard fought night, and a sweet reward to the ones who performed the best.

The Roster:

This is an early, but fairly accurate look at who will be representing each of our 4 teams. Options and changes will be disputed by the manager, and the National Roller Derby League reserves the right to a final decision over what will take place.

The Final Step:

The beginning of this article mentions that 60% of this project is ready to be shown.
What of the other 40%?

The National Roller Derby League has conceived a plan only known within our circle. This is the "sizable impact" mentioned in a previous article. The other 40% of our blueprint will take this sport to the highest level seen in years. It's guaranteed to bring attention back to our roller derby in masses. Stick around to witness our project unfold. The National Roller Derby League is aiming to write a new chapter in the history of roller sports.

When will you get to see this plan? This can only be answered with time and money.
Take my word for it though... it's definitely worth the wait.

**All players who aren't fully active. They will be placed on that particular team if or when they want to skate.
