"Skinnie Minnie" Gwen Miller was featured in an article at www.todayslocalnews.com about her role on the newly developed American Roller Skating Derby (ARSD) brand's: San Diego Firebirds. Parts of the article offered this to say:
"Meet Gwen Miller, known to three decades of roller derby fans as the infamous “Skinny Minnie.” The former high school track star parlayed her penchant for flight into a career as one of the sport’s most formidable players during the 1970s and ’80s.
Miller will serve as women’s captain of the newly formed San Diego Firebirds, based in Escondido. The team will have its first game, against the San Francisco Bay Bombers, at 8 p.m. Feb. 3 at Ups-N-Downs Roller Skating Rink, 862 N. Broadway..."
